PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania (February 13, 2018) — Today virtual reality (VR) game development company Schell Games made its award-winning VR game I Expect You To Die (IEYTD) available for Microsoft Windows Mixed Reality (MR) headsets. A number of different manufacturers - Samsung, Acer, Dell, HP, and Lenovo - have created headsets for Windows Mixed Reality. With the port of IEYTD to Windows MR, players can now access the game on a variety of platforms, which includes Oculus Rift, HTC Vive, and PlayStation®VR. The game can be purchased on the Windows Store for $24.99 USD.

In addition to the launch of IEYTD on this new platform, the company is also rolling out a newly updated website for the game. The site will feature more content, a searchable news section, a streamlined media area, and an integrated support blog. Users should find the site contains more usable content and more intuitive navigation, making it easier to use overall.

“In an effort to make the game available to the most VR headset owners possible, we’ve been steadily porting I Expect You To Die to the largest VR platforms,” said Schell Games’ CEO Jesse Schell. “With the release of the game on the Windows Mixed Reality headsets, we have now achieved a level of penetration that’s sure to reach most players. We hope the owners of Windows MR headsets will enjoy the outrageous antics of the game, while experiencing the completely immersive nature of the hardware.”

In August 2017, the company announced I Expect You To Die had surpassed $1 million in revenue across all sales channels, including the Oculus Store, PlayStation® Store, Steam, and Amazon. The game joined a limited number of virtual reality titles who have reached this milestone.

The company recently released a new level for the game called ‘First Class,’ where agents are whisked away on a luxury train to the mountains of India to enjoy an unforgettable “vacation.” Agents also face four additional levels, including being confined inside their evil nemesis Dr. Zor’s car, trapped high on a window washing platform, submerged deep underwater in a submarine, and cornered inside a booby-trapped hunting lodge. Each level delivers a treacherous and immersive experience, along with plenty of humor and the occasional cigar. A special credits sequence at the beginning of the game readies players for upcoming missions and the dangers that lie ahead.

Created specifically for VR, I Expect You To Die has been capturing the attention of game enthusiasts and media worldwide. The game has been recognized time-and-time again as a stand-out experience for its fun escape-the-room mechanics, intuitive gameplay and environments, and the unique challenge it puts upon players to use their smarts to solve missions and survive the myriad ways to die in the game.
