PITTSBURGH, Pennsylvania (August 30, 2017) — Virtual reality (VR) game development company Schell Games today announced that its critically-acclaimed escape-the-room game I Expect You To Die (IEYTD) has earned more than $1 million in revenue since its launch in December 2016. This revenue was earned across all sales channels, including the Oculus Store, Steam, the PlayStation® Store, and Amazon.

To celebrate this significant milestone, the company has published a new mixed reality video to thank its fans for their support. This one-minute video found on the company’s YouTube channel features a newly recruited agent played by Senior Designer Shawn Patton. It chronicles the successes and failures of the new recruit and offers him advice for his future. Marking another achievement, the video is the first mixed reality experience ever published for this title.

“Our IEYTD team worked incredibly hard to create an enjoyable and immersive escape-the-room experience for players. To reach this $1 million threshold is another indication that our hard work is appreciated,” remarked Jesse Schell, CEO of Schell Games. “We love how enthusiastic our fans have been toward the game, and we hope they will enjoy this hilarious mixed reality video we’ve developed. In the very near future, we look forward to providing them with even more content for the game.”

Earlier this month, the company announced on its social channels that new content is being developed for IEYTD. The details regarding this new content have not been released. The additional content will be available for players before the end of 2017.

Created specifically for VR, I Expect You To Die is a spy-themed puzzle game that has been capturing the attention of video game enthusiasts and media worldwide. The game has been recognized time-and-time again as a stand-out experience for its fun escape-the-room mechanics, intuitive gameplay and environments, and the unique challenge it puts upon players to use their smarts to solve missions and survive the myriad ways to die in the game.
